Getting in the Christmas Spirit

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to go and make Christmas cards with two friends of mine. We spent six hours making 105 cards for an assisted living facility. We played Christmas music, laughed, and mastered making pretty cards. I took this picture on my phone of one of the cards that we used a stamp on. The ones that we used that stamp on were definitely some of the prettier ones (and there were definitely a lot of them, as that stamp was a favorite). We slept over, and were able to spend most of Friday baking Christmas cookies with them and their family.

During that time, I was reminded of just how lucky I am. I am going to spend Christmas surrounded by my parents and siblings. My house is decorated and beautiful. But not everyone has that. Not everyone has the wonderful Christmas experiences that I have. We tend to look at people weirdly when they tell us that they don’t really like Christmas, and that they can’t seem to get in the Christmas spirit. While I have plenty of Christmas spirit, I’m learning to understand that not everyone has that. And that’s okay. I’m sure that being in the Christmas spirit makes the holiday much more enjoyable, but some people don’t want to be in that mood. And I’m learning that’s okay.

Whether you are someone who LOVES Christmas, or someone who doesn’t really care, remember what this season is about. Without Christ, there is no Christmas.
