Mother’s Day

Now I do realize that this is the day after Mother’s Day. I just figured that I would stick with my usual schedule of posting on Mondays- and I wanted to chill on Sunday with my family rather than worry about posting. So this is the day after Mother’s Day post for Mother’s Day.

I’ve been blessed with a pretty amazing mother. She has always been my biggest supporter. When I needed to be somewhere, she was the one that made sure that I could get there. She always made sure that I had everything that I needed. She was there for my greatest triumphs and my worst fails. She loved me, even when I didn’t love myself. She has always taken care of me and made sure that I am okay.

A lot of people say that their mom is the best. And as much as it sounds awful, I wouldn’t say that my mom is the best mom in the world. But she is the best mom for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better role model, and woman to be raised by. She isn’t perfect, but she and my dad raised me and my siblings to the best of their ability (and I’d say we turned out pretty well, if you asked me).

I know that personally, I don’t always show my mom just how much I love her. But I really should. She has put up with me and my siblings this entire time, and that in and of itself deserves so much appreciation. Our mothers are so deserving of an entire day to celebrate them, because they go through so much that we don’t even know about.

I hope that whoever you are, and wherever you are, you showed your mama some love yesterday.

My prayers are with all of those who have lost a mother, or those mothers who have lost children, today.
